Mirza Baig, MD, is an accomplished neurosurgeon who brings more than two decades of extensive experience to the team at Spring Hospital. He is excited to have the opportunity to serve the great community of Spring, Texas.
After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland College Park, Dr. Baig earned his medical degree and PhD in Molecular Genetics with an emphasis in neuroimmunology from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC. He conducted his graduate research at the National Institutes of Health, NINDS in Bethesda, Maryland, and completed his neurosurgery training at The Ohio State University in Columbus.
Dr. Baig’s medical training, research background, and clinical practice has led him to take bold steps into the challenging waters of private practice and community-based medicine, which he finds both thrilling and exciting. His experience, knowledge, and training translate into great stories that he is able to share with patients, providing a unique insight into a wide range of neurological conditions and care.
Dr. Baig remains active in his field and has authored 26 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and given over 17 oral and poster presentations at national and international conferences of neurosurgical societies and associations. He has been recognized for his achievements on numerous occasions, most recently receiving the Excellence in Graduate Research from the National Institutes of Health and the Scientist Training Award from the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics.
